Most of our handheld Creak Boxes, use a special redesigned tension mechanism, unique only to our boxes, while all classic Creak Box designs, use an eye bolt for tension on the rope, against the dowel. Our clever design uses a tension bar with a knob, making adjustment of the creak or squeak continuously variable, with no tools needed, thus allowing any amount of tension, to be easily dialed in.
We found this was a problem with most other designs,as they all use a standard nut or wing nut, to change tension on the dowel.
We are confident you will love our Creak Boxes, as they also use a well thought out and extremely comfortable to use handle design. Gone are the common threaded rod or bolt handle, that was used in all other designs till now.
While we did not reinvent the classic Creak Box, we do feel we made some much needed improvements, which just makes it so much better and easier to use, whether that be live on stage, or in a studio environment. We think you will enjoy using our boxes more then others you may have tried in the past, or built yourself.
Each one of our boxes uses top quality wood, stainless steel and aluminum hardware. Every one is carefully built by hand, to ensure a high standard of build quality and precision, not seen in other instruments of this type, that are usually just simple DIY builds.
We ship each box with Jute type or Manila rope, as we found this to yield the best creaks and squeaks, but feel free to use your own rope, and experiment with what works best for you.
